曲がった木を製材する際に、機械のない時代は斧や手斧といった道具で加工をしていました。
現在では製材機械の台頭で機械加工の不得意な曲がり材は隅に追いやられ、直材が主に製材、利用されることとなりました。
単なる懐古主義的な考えではなく曲がり材の良さを伝えていけたらと思っています。
Hewing
When there were no machines, tools such as axes and hatchets were used to hew curved wood.
Nowadays, with the rise of sawing machines, curved wood, which is difficult to machine, has been pushed into the background, and straight wood is mainly used for carpentry.
I would like to convey the good points of curved wood, rather than just being nostalgic.
