弟子の仕事は掃除、担ぎ物、お茶くみ、そして研ぎ物から始まると考えられます。
いきなり何かを綺麗に加工できるわけもなく、またその加工を担う道具の仕込みもできていないからです。
必然的にできることが、掃除や片付け、雑用となるわけです。
幸か不幸か職人の仕事の質は言語等によって体系化できる部分もたくさんありますが、身体に落とし込んで反復練習によって初めて体現することのできる身体性を伴った修練が不可避のように感じられます。
観察から入りますが、そもそも「見る目」が養われていないため、情報の収集量が熟練のそれからすると極端に低い物となってしまいます。
結果5年、10年と言う時間軸である一定のレベルに達することができると言うのは想像に難しくありません。
「好きこそ物の上手なれ」

Inevitably, the things they can do are cleaning, tidying up, and odd jobs.
Fortunately or unfortunately, there are many aspects of the quality of a craftsman's work that can be systematized using language, but it seems inevitable that training with a physicality that can only be embodied through repeated practice is necessary.
They start with observation, but because they have not developed an "eye for seeing" in the first place, the amount of information they can gather is extremely low compared to that of an experienced person.
As a result, it is not difficult to imagine that they can reach a certain level over a period of 5 to 10 years.
"If you love something, you will become good at it."
