石州瓦の古民家
数年前にお手伝いさせていただきました農家さんのお家です。
構造部分の修繕、改修、建具の製作、取り付けを頼んでいただきました。
床や、壁、内装は施主様ご自身での施工となりました。
好奇心の始まりはどこからくるのでしょうか？
「やってみたい」、「もっと知りたい」、「上手になりたい」
繰り返し上書き保存されてゆく考えや思いが、自分というバイアスの庇護を得て無限に増殖していきます。
一点を残し、他に盲目的になれるほど、自身の作り出したうねりにのまれていきます。
「真ん中がちょうどいい」
井上雄彦さんの漫画、バガボンドの中でのお気に入りのセリフです。
Old house with Sekishu tiles
This is a farmer's house that I helped out with a few years ago.
I was asked to repair and renovate the structure, and to make and install doors and windows.
The floors, walls, and interior were done by the owner himself.
Where does curiosity begin?
"I want to try," "I want to know more," "I want to get better."
Thoughts and feelings that are repeatedly overwritten and saved multiply infinitely under the protection of the bias that is myself.
The more you leave one thing and become blind to everything else, the more you are engulfed in the waves you create.
"The middle is just right."
This is my favorite line from Takehiko Inoue's manga, Vagabond.
