無垢材から幅広い板材を取る際に、大きな木材を使う方法と小さな木材をつなげる方法があります。
後者の詐欺を「板剥」といいます。
繋いだ面と面が将来的に離れないように木口側を良く密着させるべく板の中ほどを意図的に鉋で空きとってやります。
先輩から後輩へ、親方から弟子へ、技は伝わり修練を持ってして「智慧」へとなります。
長く終わりのない修行の始まりです。
Ita-hagi
When making wide boards from solid wood, there are two ways: using a large piece of wood or joining small pieces together.
The latter method is called ita-hagi.
In order to ensure that the joined surfaces do not come apart in the future, the middle of the board is intentionally hollow open with a plane to ensure that the ends of the wood are tightly attached.
From senior to junior, from master to apprentice, the technique is passed down and through training it becomes "wisdom."
This is the beginning of a long and endless training.
